Artist Statement
​Elise Weber is a local painter inspired by the landscapes of Long Island and the surrounding NY state area. She completes many of her pieces en plein air, scouting various locations and painting on site. In the winter months, Weber continues her painting practice in the studio, utilizing her own photo references. Rarely ever producing prints of her work, Weber aims to maintain depictions of irreplicable, fleeting moments in time through her small yet expressive original gouache paintings. She hopes to spread her love and appreciation of Long Island and NY through artworks that may even hold individualistic sentimentality for the viewer. When she is not painting, Weber can be found proudly teaching studio art, photography and ceramics at a local high school.
